Yes, there are places on Earth that actually look like and feel like magic. And what they all have in common is pink beaches. Unusual, surreal, and undeniably striking – pink beaches are a traveler’s dream and Mother nature’s reality.
Pink beaches are a rare phenomenon that occurs when white sand mixes with specific microorganisms that have reddish shells. They are always accompanied by clear turquoise waters, making them the perfect destination for your next trip.
Komodo Beach, Indonesia
As if the beauties of Indonesia weren’t enough to make you want to visit, Indonesia is also the home of the most scenic pink beach in the world – the Komodo beach. Located in Komodo Island, i.e., the home of the most giant lizards called Komodo dragons is Pantai Merah or better known as the pink beach of Komodo. As one of the seven world wonders, Komodo beach is one of the seven pink beaches globally and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
This exceptional beach is hugged by bright green hills that roll in the distance from one side and calm blue waters filled with colorful coral and tropical fish on the other. This makes Komodo beach a paradise for everyone but especially divers.
Horseshoe Bay Beach, Bermuda
Or otherwise known as the longest pink beach in the world, Horseshoe Bay beach is 21 miles of pure pink fantasy land. This subtropical place in the North Atlantic also deserves a spot on the list for the most romantic beach getaways globally. Its undeniable allure – dazzling azure water and secluded coves perfect for lovers, photographers, swimmers, and sunbathers made it one of the most Instagrammable destinations globally.
Surrounding Horseshoe Bay are breathtaking, immense rock formations. The climb guarantees an unforgettable sunrise view.
Elafonissi Beach, Create, Greece
There are a couple of reasons why Elafonissi Beach has been voted the most majestic beach time and time again. The exquisite pink sand is not the only thing that will amaze you while visiting Elafonissi Beach. The mind-blowing dunes, the cedar trees, white lilies, and black rocks are what make this beach even more of a unique destination.
In Elafonissi Beach, you will also get to see the endangered loggerhead sea turtle, among other rare animals and flora, alongside the seashore. It makes the perfect family travel destination because of its clear, shallow, and warm waters.
Playa de Ses Illetes, Formentera, Spain
Light pink sand beaches surrounded by deep blue waters and luxury. This beach quickly became one of the most popular stops for private cruisers due to the fabulous Michelin star restaurants and the nature that surrounds them.
If you ever dreamed of going to Ibiza, you should probably know that Formentera is Ibiza’s secret and way more relaxed sister. A less crowded place, where you can sunbathe on pink crystals while sipping Crystal and watching the most exclusive yachts go by. This bohemian gem of the Balearic Islands is the ideal place to recharge your batteries.
Harbour Island, Bahamas
You can’t talk about pink beaches without mentioning Harbour Island. Unofficially known as the heart of the Bahamas due to the striking pink-colored sand beaches, this island is a crowd-pleaser. Once the capital of the Bahamas, Harbour Island is slowly but surely becoming the most visited place in the Bahamas.
A picture-perfect place where the sand always stays cool so you can take idyllic walks. Home of one of the best dive sites globally and an excellent surf fishing and deep-sea fishing destination. Harbour Island should be your first thought if you need a tranquil and tropical escape from the modern world.
Pink Beaches of Tikehau, Tahiti
Tikehau(translates to peaceful landing) is a small and remote island found in the Tuamotu Archipelago. What separates this destination from the others on this list is that the pink beaches are all around the island.
From a bird’s eye view, the pink beaches form a rose gold circle, and in the middle of it lies an emerald lagoon. The lagoon has rich marine life, including dolphins and reef sharks to sea turtles and eagle rays. It’s 18-mile wide and genuinely one of the most amazing things you can set your eyes on. Ideal for snorkeling and kayaking, this just adds to the beauty of the pink beaches found on the island.
Spiaggia Rosa, Budelli Isola Sardinia, Italy
The tale of Spiaggia Rosa is certainly a cautionary one. Unofficially the most beautiful beach in the world has been officially off-limits to the public since 1944. However, tourists took jars of pink sand with them, so the Italian government decided to preserve this national treasure.
Although not accessible by foot, this natural miracle can be observed by boat. This makes Spiaggia Rose a perfect day spot for your next private cruise. You can admire the granite rocks and be on the lookout for dolphins known to be frequent in that region. It is a must-see sight for everyone.
Crane Beach, Barbados, The Caribbean
Once you set your eyes on this beach, you will understand the meaning of the word “sensational.” The contrast between the lush coconut grove and the pale pink sand is like nothing you have ever seen.
Barbados is home to beautiful beaches, but Crane Beach is not just a beach. It’s a magical experience. The way to the beach is through the beautiful Crane Resort. You either have to descend 98 steps or use a glass elevator. There is also an entrance on the other side of the beach, but you have to be prepared to climb a rocky path if you want to use that one.
If you are a guest at the hotel, you get free umbrellas and long chairs, but if you aren’t, there is a small fee that you can pay to use them. So sit on the pink, sip on a Barbados cocktail, watch the turquoise waves and learn the beauty of life.
Beaches of Great Santa Cruz Island, Zamboanga City, Philippines
Just a 15-minutes boat ride from Zamboanga lays another strawberry piece of paradise: the pink beach of Great Santa Cruz. The beach is so exquisite that if you want to visit it, you have to arrange a boat ride a day in advance since they only let a certain number of people on it between 8 am and 2 pm.
The island is also home to one of the world’s most fantastic mangrove lagoons. You can schedule a diving adventure so you can explore the area’s most incredible underwater wildlife.
Be prepared to be humbled by the whole experience of Great Santa Cruz Island and to have a huge lesson on how to preserve nature.

You’ll end up getting significantly less money than other comparable money exchanges.
The ATMS could charge you all sorts of ridiculous fees, which happened to one of my travel friends.
If you walk away from the touristy city centers, you can find places with better exchange rates.
