Hi, I’m Somto, the travel writer behind Somto Seeks.

As a digital creator and content strategist, I have worked with dozens of brands and bloggers to achieve their marketing goals. I help travel and lifestyle brands reach new audiences through giveaways, sponsored posts, speaking engagements, and more. Also, work with bloggers to grow their traffic on income.

Somto Seeks is a solo female travel blog that aims to empower women of color to stop waiting for others and start booking flights. Through carefully curated itineraries, destination guides, and travel tips, it shows readers how to navigate the world with confidence. In addition, Somto Seeks shares tips to help adventurous entrepreneurs create a location-independent lifestyle through travel blogging. Since its founding 2017, this blog has received nearly 700,000 page views and been featured in publications such as The Huffington Post, Matador Network, Travel Noire, Nomadic Matt, and more.

Who Is Somto Seeks?

Hi there, I’m Somtochukwu. Can you try pronouncing that? I've always gone by Somto (Sohm-toe). I'm a child of Nigerian immigrants who ditched both medical school and the 9 to 5 to pursue her dream of living an extraordinary life. In 2015, I chose faith over fear, packing my bags and moving to Spain with $1,000 in my pocket. This was after losing two jobs and being diagnosed with an autoimmune disease that caused me to develop a giant bald patch in the middle of my scalp. Living in Spain and traveling around Europe for a year changed my life forever, allowing me to discover the freedom of solo travel and the freedom of working for myself. Today, I’m a full-time travel writer whose mission is to help you navigate this big, beautiful world with confidence and have those omg-pinch-me-moments you’ll remember for a lifetime.
